Jesus builds His church from all different types of people, regardless of age, social or economic status-and this is exactly what you will find at MVBC. God has brought us together as a family that cares for and serves one another, both in our own church and throughout the valley. We pray that you will enjoy and become a part of our family.
Your family and the church family are an integral part of the healthy church body. The key to a strong family is relationships: to God, in the home between husband and wife, parents and children. It is our goal, through the teaching of God's Word, to be a church that builds into the family the necessary spiritual maturity and stability to meet the increasing demands of today's society. Using ministries such as small in-home life groups, youth group, Awana, and Sunday school classes for all ages, we have much to offer. We invite your family to be a part of the MVBC family.
Our children have the opportunity to enjoy 9:30 am Sunday School classes taught by men and women who know and love our Lord. During the worship service, Children's Church is provided for our young ones, age three through third grade. Nursery is available during both the Sunday School and worship service hours for ages birth to thirty-six months.
With worship, it is our desire to focus God's people on the Lord Jesus Christ. Worship is the natural response of God's people when they grasp the nature of God or His mighty works. It is our prayer that each Sunday morning, our worship will be very real, personal and pleasing to Christ. This only happens when the church is filled with holy people, led by holy leaders and focused on a holy God. Our musical style tends to be a conservative blend of both contemporary music and traditional hymns, and our preaching expository, applying God's Word to our everyday lives. It is our intent to live what we believe, the Bible, for the glory of God.
A Brief Belief Statement of MVBC
1. The Holy Scriptures
We believe the Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments to be the verbally inspired Word of God, the final authority for faith and life, inerrant in the original writings, infallible and God-breathed (II Timothy 3:16-17; II Peter 1:20-21; Matthew 5:18; John 16:12-13).
2. The Person of God
We believe in one Triune God, eternally existing in three Persons (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit), co-eternal in being, co-identical in nature, co-equal in power and glory, and each having the same attributes and perfections (Deuteronomy 6:4; II Corinthians 13:14).
3. The Person and Work of Christ
a. We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ, the eternal Son of God, became man without ceasing to be God, having been conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary, in order that He might reveal God and redeem sinful man (John 1:1-2; Luke 1:35).
b. We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ died on the cross for all mankind as a representative, vicarious, substitutionary sacrifice; and that the sufficiency of this atoning sacrifice to accomplish the redemption and justification of all who trust in Him, is assured by His literal, physical resurrection from the dead (Romans 3:24-25, 4:25; Ephesians 1:7; I Timothy 4:10; Hebrews 2:9; I Peter 1:3-5, 2:24; II Peter 2:1).
c. We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ ascended to heaven and is now exalted at the right hand of God where, as our High Priest, He fulfills the ministry of Representative, Intercessor, and Advocate (Acts 1:9-10; Hebrews 9:24, 7:25; Romans 8:34; I John 2:1-2).
4. Salvation
We believe that salvation is the gift of God brought to man by grace and received by faith alone in the Lord Jesus Christ, Whose precious blood was shed on Calvary for the forgiveness of our sins (Ephesians 2:8-10, 1:7; John 1:12; I Peter 1:18-19).
