THE PASTORAL TEAM...God has blessed us with a great team of Pastors and Elders. Each of these men truly loves the Lord and cares about your spiritual development. They desire to see you grow in your walk with Christ and are here to help you: Pastor Mark Fisher is our head pastor, preaching and teaching each Sunday. Associate Pastor Keith Sheppard oversees worship, Life Groups and children's education, while Youth Pastor David Ward cares for our teens. Seniors Pastor Cal Sheppard ministers to our Seasoned Saints.
In 1991, Mark and Renee began a ministry on the North Shore of Lake Superior, and spent the next ten years in an outreach ministry laboring to establish a Bible Church. During this time Mark was a Civil Engineering Technician for Lake County, and Renee was a stay-at-home, home schooling mom, raising their four children.
After much prayer, the Lord led them to Cornerstone Bible Institute, in Hot Springs, South Dakota, for three years. From there it was on to Kansas City, Missouri, where Mark earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Advanced Biblical Studies from Calvary Bible College and began his M.A. degree with Trinity Theological Seminary.
While there, Mark pastored Antioch Baptist Church, of Spring Hill, Kansas. From there the Fishers moved to western Colorado, where Mark became the Associate Pastor of Grace Bible Church of Parachute for 2 ½ years. During this time he finished his M.A. in Biblical Studies and began his PhD studies. Throughout all their moves and ministries, mark's wife, Renee, has been his best friend and ministry partner, an integral part of all their labors.
Mark and his family enjoy the outdoors, the numerous activities, and the people of western Colorado. They especially appreciate the people and the purpose of MVBC, “A Church Family Passionate about knowing Christ and Making Him Known.” So it is with joy and excitement that Mark, Renee, and family, now serve at MVBC of Fruita.
Pastor Keith Sheppard began his ministry here at MVBC in August of 2005 after completing his degree at Northwest Baptist Theological Seminary. Upon earning his Bachelor's Degree in Biblical Studies from The Master's College, he began his ministry as a youth pastor at Grand Mesa Baptist Church. Several years later, the Lord led him to Tacoma, Washington, to earn his Master of Divinity degree. God moved him into the interim position here at Monument View for a year during this time, enabling him to get to know many of the church members. He now serves in a variety of ways, including associate pastor, worship leader, children's ministries director and Life Groups coordinator.
Keith and his family enjoy working at Twin Peaks Bible Camp each summer and are privileged to be part of the ministry at MVBC.
Pastor David Ward serves at MVBC as the Awana commander and as our youth pastor. He graduated from Mesa State with a degree in Electronic Engineering Technology. He and his wife, Amy have two sons and enjoy four-wheeling, hiking and camping. Click here to view our youth group page.
Cal Sheppard is our Seniors' pastor at MVBC. He and Jan met at Grand Rapids School of the Bible and were married in Grand Junction, Co. After graduation they joined the staff of Camp Barakel in Fairview, Michigan, along with their first son, Kevin. Camp Barakel gave them the opportunity to learn more about Christian Camp Ministry, running around 10,000 campers at its year round camp.

After serving there for ten years, Cal and his family joined the Independent Bible Mission to start a church in Hancock, Michigan, in the upper peninsula. During the next ten years, God enabled them to see a new church building erected as well as spiritual fruit from the congregation. Cal was also chosen to be the Director of Blessed Hope Bible Camp during this time.
The Sheppard family moved to Grand Junction in 1983 where Cal assumed the directorship of Twin Peaks Bible Camp. They were also helping with a youth group at a church in the valley before God moved them to the youth group here at MVBC for a several years.
Cal is our pastor to the seniors, and he is looking forward to serving His Lord and Savior for many years to come. If you would like to visit our Seniors' page, please click
